Emotional roller coaster

Is there a better feeling than walking out of the hair salon with a great new 'do?

Is there a more deflating feeling than standing in front of the mirror the next morning, realizing that no matter what you do, your hair is always basically going to end up looking exactly the same as it always has (only slightly shorter)?

    I know, it's the circle of life...the inevitability of it all. Like the fact that every year or so I march in and announce that I'm growing my hair out. So for that year, my hair basically always looks exactly the same, only flatter. Then I cut it again, and the circle continues.

    Take heart. I have grown my hair out on the advice of my hairdresser. The only thing is that I look like the 4-year-old me with a pixie cut and a lot of wrinkles.
